El arzobispo emérito de la Arquidiócesis de Santiago de los Caballeros, monseñor Ramón Benito de la Rosa y Carpio, condenó enérgicamente las acciones de curas que se han visto involucrados en acusaciones sobre abusos sexuales contra menores.
Dijo que, de ser hallados culpables, sobre ellos debe caer todo el peso de la legislación eclesiástica y la justicia, al considerarlo como una falta “criminal”.
“Primero hay que esperar que la justicia haga su trabajo, porque ahí hay una violación que es criminal, no es una falta cualquiera, es una falta muy seria, y tiene que ir a los tribunales y separarlos de la iglesia”, enfatizó.
Señaló que esa es la posición que siempre ha tenido la iglesia frente a esos casos. “Entonces hay una palabra condena dentro y fuera de la iglesia”, precisó el prelado, al considerar que la iglesia jamás apoyará una falta como esa. “Que tenga miembros que fallen es una cosa, pero aprobarlo es horrible, eso no puede ser”, dijo De la Rosa y Carpio quien habló previo acto de puesta en circulación de la obra “Vida y Aborto: afirmaciones científicas, éticas y legales”, realizado en la Casa San Pablo.
