Sector de Hipólito opina primarias abiertas es lo que conviene a la RD
El vocero del expresidente Hipólito Mejía, Eddy Olivares sostiene que la implementación de primarias abiertas y simultáneas utilizando el padrón de la JCE para la escogencia de candidatos a cargos de elección popular, es lo que más conviene para el sistema de partidos políticos en la República Dominicana.
Olivares, exjuez titular de la Junta Central Electoral, también justificó la postula que en favor de esa modalidad de elección que mantiene el ex mandatario, por considerar coincide con un legado del fenecido doctor José Francisco Peña Gómez, quien implementó por primera vez las primarias abiertas en el PRD.
El vocero político del exmandatario recordó además, que la opinión de Mejía en torno al tema no es coyuntural, sino data del año 2004 cuando fue propulsor de una ley especial para establecer la forma de escogencias de candidatos y de esta manera cumplir con el anhelo de sectores políticos y del otrora líder perredeísta Peña Gómez.
¨El ex presidente Mejía quiso dejar ese legado de primarias abiertas simultáneas y con el registro de votantes de la Junta Central Electoral hace 14 años, y tengo entendido que él no renegará ahora a esa convicción ¨, enfatizó Olivares.
Consideró que las primarias abiertas y simultáneas darían al traste con la manipulación de los procesos de elección internas de los partidos, porque en esos procesos se utilizará el padrón de la JCE, considerado uno de los más confiables de América Latina.
Olivares tiene entendido que para los partidos lograr elaborar un padrón confiable les resultaría una odisea, por lo que utilizándose el de la JCE se fortalecería la democracia internas en esas organizaciones.
El exjuez del tribunal electoral insistió en que es importante que se apruebe en la actual legislatura la Ley de Partidos y Agrupaciones Políticas conteniendo la figura de primarias abiertas y simultáneas.
Refirió que en los eventos internos de los partidos, en los últimos tiempos han demostrado que no están preparados para organizar asambleas, primarias o convecciones que sean aceptadas por todos.
Olivares, insistió en que es necesario que las próximas convecciones de los partidos sean organizadas por la Junta Central Electoral, para lo cual debe haber una Ley sobre el nuevo régimen electoral.
Entiende que quienes se oponen a esa modalidad de votaciones a lo interno de los partidos se basan en razones coyunturales y que entiende no les conviene a sus intereses particulares.
