Pro Consumidor incinera más de 42 mil productos en mal estado
Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. – El Instituto Nacional de Protección de los Derechos del Consumidor (Pro Consumidor) incineró un total de 42,911 productos que se encontraban vencidos, oxidados y en mal estado, tras un operativo realizado en colmados, restaurantes, cafeterías y supermercados del Distrito Nacional, el Gran Santo Domingo y varias provincias del país.
Los productos, que fueron retirados del mercado desde el primero de mayo al 26 de junio, presentaban irregularidades que ponían en riesgo a los consumidores, por lo que se procedió a retirarlos bajo el amparo de las la ley 166-12, que faculta a Pro Consumidor como Autoridad Nacional de Vigilancia del Mercado y la Ley 358-05 de Protección al Consumidor.
Los establecimientos comerciales inspeccionados pertenecen a los sectores El Almirante, Villa Carmen, Los Frailes, Sabana Centro, Urbanización Tropical, sector Enriquillo, Ensanche Luperón, Sabana Perdida, Miramar, Los Praditos, Los Prados, San Carlos, Barrio Chino, Villa Marina, Piantini, Julieta, municipio de Guerra y las provincias San Cristóbal, Santiago, Hato Mayor y San Pedro de Macorís.
La entidad, dirigida por Anina Del Castillo, indicó que entre los productos incinerados figuran botellas de refrescos, jugos, leche en tetrapack, sobres con alimentos diversos, snack, galletas, embutidos, enlatados, chocolates, sazones en polvo, aceites, pasta, salsa, detergentes, suavizantes, cigarrillos, productos de higiene personal y belleza (pasta dental, desodorantes, crema para el cuerpo, papel sanitario, pañales desechable).
El organismo instó a los consumidores a que antes de comprar verifiquen las fechas de vencimiento, la higiene del local y el estado en el que se encuentra las mercancías, a la vez exhortó a los ciudadanos a que denuncien los establecimientos que incurran en malas prácticas comerciales, a fin de hacer el proceso correspondientes e imponerles las sanciones que fuera de lugar.
La doctora Del Castillo, indicó, además, que los proveedores deben cuidar que las condiciones en las que desarrollan su actividad comercial sean seguras y adecuadas, ofertando productos y servicios de calidad. Asimismo, los consumidores deben recibir del proveedor una información veraz, clara y oportuna sobre los productos y servicios que le ofrecen.
La incineración fue realizada por la empresa Recolección Residuos Clasificados Diversos (RESICLA), quien procedió a la destrucción final de tales productos, respetando el medio ambiente y las normativas legales vigentes.
