La Dirección General de Desarrollo Fronterizo (DGDF) dispuso hoy la cancelación del encargado de la oficina provincial de la entidad en Elías Piña, Basilio Alcántara, tras determinarse que cometió una falta grave de tercer grado, al poner en riesgo un bien asignado a esa institución en el hecho que involucra un vehículo oficial en el trasiego de productos de manera ilegal.
El titular de la DGDF Miguel Bejarán dijo en rueda de prensa que adoptó la decisión luego de recibir un informe del departamento de seguridad de la institución, donde establece que Alcántara entregó sin autorización el camión utilizado para transportar estudiantes en la provincia Elías Piña, al señor Dagoberto Adames, un empresario privado del transporte quien lo utilizó para trasportar cientos de sacos de ajos y miles de cigarrillos de contrabando.
Agrega que, sin importar que el hecho haya sido premeditado o por negligencia, “el mismo amerita la máxima sanción, por lo cual se procede a su cancelación”.
Bejarán dijo que la institución fue sorprendida con este caso y aclaró que la persona detenida por miembros del Ejército de República Dominicana en el puesto de chequeo del distrito municipal de Matayaya, en la provincia San Juan, no es empleado de la Dirección General de Desarrollo Fronterizo, sino que fue contactado para conducir dicho vehículo hacia Santo Domingo donde sería sometido a mantenimiento regular preventivo.
Asimismo, precisó que solicitó al Ejército de la República Dominicana y demás autoridades competentes investigar el hecho y llegar hasta las últimas consecuencias, a la vez que advirtió a todo su personal establecido en la zona fronteriza que esta Dirección “no tolerará ningún tipo de conducta reñida con la ley “y quien hozare cometerla, será sancionado debidamente y de ser necesario puesto a disposición de la justicia”.
