Ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Este ingresa a la seguridad social a 712 obreros
SANTO DOMINGO ESTE, R.D. –
El Ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Este puso fin a la vieja práctica de pagar a obreros de manera temporal y sin acceso a los beneficios del sistema de Seguridad Social, impactando de inmediato a 712 hombres y mujeres mayores de 40 años que llevaban más de una década desprotegidos.
Según informó este jueves la directora de Recursos Humanos del cabildo, la doctora Esther Marte, el desmonte de esta práctica tradicional busca garantizar los derechos fundamentales de los hombres y mujeres que se dedican a las labores más duras de la limpieza y el mantenimiento de la ciudad.
Esther Marte explicó que de inmediato estos obreros y obreras pasarán a la nómina oficial, y tendrán acceso a seguro médico, cotización en el sistema de pensiones, seguro de vida, protección de riesgos laborales, beneficio de planes funerarios, entre otros.
“Le hacemos saber esto porque habían empleados de servicios prestados, sin ninguna protección desde hace cinco o seis años, y en nuestro Ayuntamiento, a partir de la fecha esta realidad ya pasó, todos los empleados son fijos”, añadió Marte.
La medida, dijo Marte, se suma a los aumentos salariales de hasta un 150% que el alcalde Manuel Jiménez aplicó hace más de un año a los obreros, en procura de dignificar el servicio municipal y mejorar las capacidades laborales del Ayuntamiento.
«Estos obreros a partir de ahora tendrán lo que nunca habían tenido: acceso a la Seguridad Social para ellos y para sus familias (…) la humanidad de nuestro señor alcalde es esto, que todos tengamos aquí un ambiente factible, que las personas se sientan seguras en su ambiente de trabajo y sobre todo que en situaciones difíciles nuestros colaboradores cuenten con múltiples beneficios», declaró Marte en una rueda de prensa ofrecida en el Palacio Municipal, junto a Rosa Gonell, encargada de Aseo Urbano.
A partir de esta medida, indica la directora de Recursos Humanos, la nómina general del Ayuntamiento presentará cambios importantes porque la realidad laboral de la institución se reflejará de manera transparente, con el objetivo de garantizar que ningún trabajador de la ciudad se quede sin las condiciones de protección que merece.
Por su parte, Estanislao Polanco, uno de los colabores beneficiados, catalogó como un “paso del cielo a la tierra”, la nueva medida impuesta en el cabildo.
“Yo ahora puedo tener todos los beneficios de los empleados del Ayuntamiento, entré como obrero, pasé a capataz y ahora soy supervisor”, dijo.
Los obreros y obreras que estarán formalmente nombrados corresponden a las direcciones de Aseo Urbano y Limpieza, con 439, Ingeniería y Obras, 78, Seguridad, 30, Ornato, Plazas y Parques, 87, Equipo y Transporte, 65, y Recaudaciones, 13.
