Alcaldía de Santo Domingo Este aumenta apoyo a Soles

La Alcaldía de Santo Domingo Este aumentó su apoyo al equipo Soles del Este, de la Liga Nacional de Baloncesto (LNB), anunció este martes, el alcalde, Lic. Manuel Jiménez.
Por medio a un despacho de prensa, la Alcaldía dio a conocer que en virtud de la clasificación de Soles a la segunda ronda eliminatoria del actual torneo de la LNB, extenderá su apoyo hasta esa parte de la contienda, en el entendido que ya en la primera fase fueron consumidos los recursos económicos que fueron concedidos por medio al patrocinio originalmente acordado.
El anuncio sobre el aumento del patrocinio a Soles lo hizo el alcalde Jiménez, en medio de un almuerzo al equipo, en el Palacio Municipal de San Domingo Este, con el cual se celebró el avance a la mencionada segunda ronda competitiva, a la cual pasaron seis de los ocho combinados que participan en la justa.
En el almuerzo estuvieron presentes los jugadores de los Soles; su entrenador, Julio César Javier; así como su presidente, Lic. Pedro Chalas Ferreras; y su vicepresidente, Lic. Danilo Mesa. También parte del equipo de transmisión de los partidos como dueños de la casa, en el multiuso profesor Simón Orozco, en el sector de Invivienda; entre ellos el narrador Osvaldo Rodríguez Suncar, y el locutor César Sánchez. También el director de prensa de Soles, periodista Odalis Sánchez.
Jiménez prometió que igualmente la Alcaldía aumentará su apoyo a Soles en caso del conjunto avanzar a las próximas etapas del campeonato: series semifinal y final.
Al ponderar sobre el porqué del patrocinio a Soles, Jiménez aseguró que el mismo obedece a una política de la Alcaldía tendente a respaldar los valores de la municipalidad, entre los cuales, el deporte, de manera general, y de manera particular el baloncesto que se practica en la demarcación, juegan un lugar preponderante.
Recordó que la Alcaldía también ha ofrecido su respaldo a la Liga de Baloncesto Oriental, así como al club Delfines del Este, equipo que participa en la Liga Dominicana de Fútbol. De igual manera a la organización de los III Juegos Deportivos Municipales, que en la actualidad están en marcha.
Jiménez exhortó a los moradores en el municipio Santo Domingo Este a respaldar a Soles, del cual dijo es una digna representación de la demarcación, en la Liga Nacional de Baloncesto.
La segunda ronda eliminatoria de la Liga Nacional de Baloncesto comenzará el 6 de julio. Junto a Soles avanzaron a la misma los combinados Indios de San Francisco de Macorís, Titanes del Distrito Nacional, Leones de Santo Domingo, Marineros de Puerto Plata y Reales de la Vega. Quedaron eliminados para la misma Metros de Santiago y Cañeros del Este.
El torneo de la LNB está en medio de un receso temporal, debido a la participación de la selección nacional de baloncesto masculino en la ventana clasificatoria frente a Canadá y Bahamas, en cada una de esas localidades, con miras a ganarse un puesto para el Campeonato Mundial del 2023, que organiza la Federación Internacional de Baloncesto (FIBA).
