LOS TRABAJOS DE DRENAJE REALIZADOS FRENTE A LA SIRENA DE LA CHARLES, ASÍ COMO EN LAS CAÑADAS DE LOS MINA Y LOS TRES BRAZOS EVITARON INUNDACIONES EN ESAS LOCALIDADES

El alcalde Manuel Jiménez supervisó puntos críticos de Santo Domingo Este, donde se realizaron trabajos de drenaje que evitaron inundaciones por las lluvias provocadas por el huracán Fiona a su paso por el país.
Dentro de los lugares recorridos están la avenida Charles de Gaulle, frente a La Sirena, el Cachón de la Rubia, las cañadas de Katanga, en Los Mina, y la de Los Tres Brazos, y otros puntos de la Circunscripción número 2 del municipio, donde los comunitarios agradecieron a Jiménez por las mejoras en esos afluentes.
Durante el recorrido el alcalde estuvo acompañado del diputado José Santana (Bertico), el director de Imposdom, Erick Guzmán, el intendente de Bomberos del municipio, coronel Roberto Santos Méndez, la directora regional del Programa Supérate en Santo Domingo Este Magaly Segura, la regidora Ángela Maríñez así como representantes de los organismos de socorro local, como la Defensa Civil, la Cruz Roja y funcionarios del ayuntamiento.
Resaltó la importancia de trabajar para prevenir hechos que se generan con la temporada de huracanes, como el caso de las inundaciones, a fin de preservar el bienestar de los munícipes.
“Antes de ayer y ayer fueron dos días en los que nos aseguramos de revisar todos los puntos críticos, limpiar los imbornales de esos puntos, la poda de árboles que podrían derribarse eventualmente durante una tormenta, eso nos da muchísima seguridad y si nos preparamos para cuando venga la tormenta, o el fenómeno que sea, nos encuentre con pocas posibilidades de hacernos daño”, manifestó Jiménez.
Mostró su satisfacción con el trabajo realizado, “con las soluciones que hemos venido logrando en los puntos críticos de la ciudad, por donde estamos ahora cuando llovía lo que ha llovido ni siquiera se podía caminar y había que sacar personas de las orillas”, indicó, al referirse a un tramo de la cañada de Los Tres Brazos.
Jiménez también visitó un tramo de la orilla del río Ozama, donde afirmó el agua corre con normalidad, aunque llueva con intensidad, debido a que se ha organizado el sistema de cañada.
Sin embargo, pidió a los munícipes mantenerse atentos a las recomendaciones de los organismos de socorro, para evitar cualquier eventualidad que se pudieran presentar con las lluvias.
